MY PLATFORM

My perspective is that, despite what some may want you to believe, we all have more in common than we think. Reasonable minds can disagree, but government is about finding consensus. Here’s what I know most Idahoans can get behind.

Lower costs. Fair taxes. Strong schools. Real infrastructure.

Idaho can be fiscally responsible and make life more affordable for working families. My focus is straightforward: rebalance the budget so the people who keep Idaho running aren’t carrying the heaviest load, make it easier to start and raise a family here, and invest in the basics that help communities thrive.

1) Rebalancing Idahos’ Budget

A tax system that’s fairer—and relief where families feel it most.

  • End the flat tax and replace it with a system that’s fairer in terms of who pays what. Idaho shouldn’t balance the budget on the backs of the middle class and the working poor.

  • Use “triggers” for tax changes so Idaho only cuts taxes when we can actually afford it—protecting schools, healthcare, and public safety from boom-and-bust budgeting.

  • Grocery tax relief so families keep more of what they earn when they buy essentials.

  • Energy usage tax relief to lower utility-related costs that hit working households the hardest.

Shift the tax burden away from ALICE families (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) who work hard but still struggle to cover basic costs.

2) Making It Easier to Start a Family

Because Idaho should be a place where families can plan for the future.

  • Public schools that work so every child, in every ZIP code, has a real shot.

  • Attainable housing by increasing supply responsibly:

    • Cut red tape that blocks homes from being built.

    • Recognize the real issues driving prices up and address them head-on.

  • Rural healthcare that’s accessible and reliable—because no Idahoan should have to drive hours for basic care.

3) Investing in What Matters

Build the foundation for growth—physical and digital.

  • Infrastructure that keeps Idaho moving:

    • Roads and bridges

    • Critical maintenance and upgrades

  • Digital infrastructure so rural and small-town Idaho can compete, learn, and do business.

  • School facilities that are safe, modern, and built for student success.

  • Water solutions, both novel and tested to ensure sustainable water resources.

4) Modernize Marijuana for Profit Laws
(and keep it tightly focused)

Idaho’s marijuana laws are outdated—and Idaho is paying the price.

  • Make marijuana legally available, but tax it heavily.

  • Stop sending Idaho tax dollars to surrounding states because we refuse to acknowledge reality.

  • Reduce the black market—because prohibition hasn’t fixed anything.

  • Help reduce the prison population by focusing enforcement where it belongs.

  • Even Montana and Utah have moved forward—Idaho can too.

No other drugs. Just this one. This is a targeted policy change, not a broader drug legalization agenda.
